i read it in a movie review somewhere before, i thought, i think this must be something up my alley, something i can appreciate. but i missed the showing in the theaters. so when i got the chance to see it on cable i took it. and yes it was really up my alley. it's romantic but not overly so. i even identified with Gwyneth's character a bit (and she reminded me of this extra story in the manga parfait tic, the one who doesn't want to get close to guys because she doesn't want to be accused of flirting).
i did like the movie. it was quiet and simple, it actually reminded me a bit of this other movie i saw years ago, starring Imogen Stubbs.[note to self, find the title of this movie]
oh and this one was based on the book by a.s. byatt, i wonder if the book is even better?
